Hamburg, 22 April 2026 – Readcrest Capital AG (DE000A0LE3J1; WKN A0LE3J) is acquiring a plot of around 60,000 sqm in Fürstenwalde/Spree near Berlin to develop a multi-generational neighbourhood of up to 1,000 apartments, combining modern living space with historic heritage. The purchase price has not been disclosed.
Added value for Fürstenwalde
The project brings clear added value for Fürstenwalde: construction activity and new residents strengthen local retail, hospitality and services, while the upgrade of the site sustainably improves the townscape and increases the city’s overall appeal.
Implementation takes place in close coordination with the city administration in order to preserve historic value while providing modern living comfort for future residents.
Homes for all generations
The planned project is firmly built on the concept of affordable multi-generational living: an inclusive environment for young families, singles and seniors. With a mix of apartment types and barrier-free options, the neighbourhood responds to the growing demand for flexible and affordable housing in the Berlin-Brandenburg region.
Close to major employers
A key location advantage of the site is its excellent transport connection: via the nearby regional railway, residents reach Berlin in around 30 minutes. The site allows Berliners to live in the middle of a green park, while giving commuters and employees of local companies such as Tesla or Daiwa House Modular Europe short journeys to work.
“With this project, we want not only to create new housing, which is well known to be urgently needed, but also to preserve and revive a piece of the city’s history. Our goal is to create a neighbourhood that connects generations, preserves history and noticeably enriches Fürstenwalde.” — Rolf Elgeti, CEO of Readcrest Capital AG
The joint venture’s first project
Readcrest is acquiring this project as part of the equal 50/50 joint venture with Karimian Flossbach & Co. “I am delighted that our joint venture can start with this outstanding project. In this way we can create greater value for the city, for future users and for our shareholders than would be possible alone,” said Rolf Elgeti.
“The Fürstenwalde project shows the strength of our partnership: even in the current market environment, we are able to selectively execute projects of this scale and complexity in a structured way. We intend to realise further projects of this kind and thereby contribute over the long term to developing future-proof residential locations in dynamic metropolitan regions.” — Nikan Karimian-Pour, Managing Partner
